About Marianne North
Marianne North was a remarkable Victorian botanical artist whose travels took her around the world in pursuit of plants and flowers to paint. She traveled to Brazil in 1872 and remained there until September 1873, documenting the extraordinary plant life she encountered. Today, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, has a gallery dedicated to her work.
