Fall Bird Migration

Where I live (New Mexico), this is the time of year when I get a bit sad knowing that the hummingbirds I've enjoyed feeding and watching all summer, will be leaving, heading to their winter habitats.

But it is also an exciting time watching fall migrants pass through our area. Recently various warblers are making some stops here and who doesn't get excited about that?

Here are some great tools for watching bird migration and knowing which birds might make an appearance in your area. You can also keep track of where your favorites are heading.

Here is the main page of the Audubon tool. You can type in your location or a specific bird species. (I used black-chinned hummingbird as one of my searches.)

Here is a second tool from BirdCast. As an example I searched Cape May, NJ.

I hope you will have as much fun as I do exploring these sites!
